This event took place December 16, 2011. This was not only a sad day, it is a day that will live in infamy. The vote in the Senate to harm liberty was almost unanimous in the Senate, and passed easily in the House. Then a conference committee considered it, and finally the president signed it.

There is strong opposition to the bill. Rand Paul expressed his opposition to the bill in this video.

I fully agree with Rand Paul.

This law will probably be adjudicated. The courts will decide whether the Senate, House, and the President are correct in their attempts to harm life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I keep thinking about the midnight ride of Paul Revere. Where have the patriots gone?

In November 1773 the merchant ship, Dartmouth arrived in Boston harbor carrying the first shipment of tea that would be subject to the taxes of the Tea Act. Revere and Warren, as members of the informal "North End Caucus", organized a watch over the Dartmouth to prevent the unloading of the tea.

President Obama, Lindsey Graham, John McCain, and many, many others are no Paul Revere.
