Storyworth post 65

This should have been in the book

The horse:

I was going through a small town in the middle of the night. I was driving my loaded truck. Suddenly a horse landed on the hood of my truck. A horse was walking on the street unattended in the dark and we collided. The horse came from the left side of the road. The police came and assisted me in getting my truck parked. They also had words with the owner of the horse the next day.

A guy got in front of the wheels of my loaded trailer:

I was stopped at a red light in New York City. I heard alarming sounds, and when I looked in the mirror, I saw a guy crouching in front of the wheels of my loaded trailer. The people pulled him away, and he wasn’t hurt.

Larry Glenn:

Larry was the Ravenswood, WV terminal manager. He was also an advisor to Angelo Fonzi. He advised about equipment purchases. He probably recommended purchasing the 34 wheel rig, which I drove. I depended on him for maintenance decisions, When the horse hit my truck, I called Larry. Larry was the overseer of getting the truck repaired. The truck was a Volvo with a 400 horsepower Volvo engine. The cab was equipped with a bunk heater. I had a refrigerator and microwave, which belonged to me. I could prepare food while inside US Steel.

One of the dumbest things I’ve done:

I painted a pretty red brick house green. We lived in the house on Summit street in Defiance, Ohio.

Book Post 64

What were you like when you were 40?

I was discouraged. I was in the south, and had to put up with racial catering. I had decided to buy my own truck, and be an owner operator. I told the people, who I was working for, that I was planning to leave. I left, but my truck broke down. I went to work for Joe Gizienski as an owner operator hauling steel.

Opossum

I had a pet ,opossum which I called a possum. They have strong teeth and jaws. He bit me tenderly, but he didn't hurt me, They hiss at you, to warn you. Sometimes they play dead. His moma had a pouch on her stomach, which he stayed in, when he was a baby. Possums don't live long; they live about four years. They like fish and apples.

How is life different today compared to when you were a child?

My family was broke, when I was a child. My father did work, from time to time, and my mother did what she could. But, we didn't have security. Now, we do have security, if Social Security survives. So, the federal government took our money. Now we are dependent on them.

What gives you peace of mind?

Life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness; gives me peace of mind. Death, slavery, and sadness, are not my cup of tea. I saw a video recently, in which a woman threw a dog to the ground. The dog cried in anguish. His livelihood was wiped out. His love of affection; gone. He had no one he could trust, and death was imminent. It left a lasting sad impression on me.

One of our neighbors shot himself, when I was young. I wasn't in any danger, but it gave me a spooky feeling. I felt unsafe even though I wasn't in danger, Bryan Kohberger is another person who gives me bad vibes. He claims to see snow in his mind. His DNA is on a knife sheath
